Brandi Carlile is widely recognized as one of the most authentic and powerful voices in modern Folk, Rock, and Roots/Americana music. She's not only a formidable singer-songwriter but a deeply respected collaborator and producer.

Over the past few years, she has committed herself to celebrating artists who shaped not only her musical life, but a generation of artists like Tanya Tucker, Joni Mitchell and earlier this year, Elton John.

Through these collaborations, she realized a hunger to create a record all her own. Looking inward, she travelled into the woods of upstate New York, and ultimately back to herself, to make a masterpiece about the human experience we can all hold on to.
